San Francisco St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl
It’s that time of the year again when the world turns green, and everyone is feeling lucky! St. Patrick’s Day is a global celebration of Irish culture, honoring the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick. This holiday is a perfect excuse to indulge in Irish cuisine, rock your best green outfits & participate in some of the craziest traditions that will have you feeling like a true Irishman. I absolutely love everything about St. Patrick’s Day. Shamrocks, leprechauns, Irish Whiskey, corned beef & Cabbage and all the things that represent March 17 just make everything better. It’s also kind of like the kick off to the start of the year (at east when things start getting fun). January is usually kind of slow and February doesn’t have much going on, but St. Patrick’s Day is the first real party day of the year.
When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, no one does it better than San Francisco. This city is one of the best places to celebrate the holiday. San Francisco offers lots of St. Patrick’s Day events that cater to everyone’s taste.
But, the highlight of the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in San Francisco is, without a doubt, the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. This event is the biggest & most exciting St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the city, with over 15,000 participants enjoying discounted drink specials, lively DJs and party favors. The pub crawl takes place over three days so you can choose what works for you.
And, if you’re up for some extra fun, try your luck at the “Find the Gnome” contest, where you can hunt for hidden St. Patrick’s Day gnomes in the participating bars. The prize? A CrawlSF Season Pass and a gift bag!

The participating bars in the pub crawl are located in San Francisco’s best neighborhoods, including The Marina, Polk Gulch, Nob Hill, and Russian Hill. Some of the bars included in the crawl are Mayes, Rick & Roxy’s, Amsterdam Cafe, Uni Pizza, Lush Lounge, Jaxson, Mcteague’s Saloon, El Lopo, Comet Club, Shanghai Kelly’s, Wreck Room, Hanaro, Decodance, Route 101, The Blue Light, Silver Cloud, Westwood, R Bar and many more!
San Francisco is a great St. Patrick’s Day destination, offering unforgettable experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. So, grab your friends, put on your green outfits, and join the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl for a party like no other!

Fun fact: The largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the world takes place in New York City, with over 2 million spectators every year.
Did you know that the tradition of pinching people who aren’t wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day is supposed to be leprechauns’ work? If you’re not wearing green, they can sneak up and pinch you!
In San Francisco, you can ride a cable car that is painted green during the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The city sure knows how to get into the spirit of things!

What to expect
If you are not exactly sure what this pub crawl thing is all about, let me give you some first hand experience. The pub crawl is produced by CrawlSF, which has been around for over 20 years, so the company has really figured out how to create an amazing experience. They also just broke the record for the World’s Largest Pub Crawl in 2025, so you can be pretty confident that they can put on a great event.
The St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl will take place over 3 days in 2026. Friday will have a big crowd of people, but a lot less than the big day on Saturday. However, the event only takes place on Polk Street that day, so you have a lot less bars per number of people. Saturday is huge with around 10,000 people and over 30 (or maybe 40 bars). There are a bunch of check in locations and party buses to take you to each neighborhood. Tuesday will be the slowest day since it is on a Tuesday, but there will still be a solid crowd of fun people.
When you arrive to the crawl, you go to one of the check in locations and you will see a booth with a bunch of CrawlSF staff. They will scan your barcode and give you a map and a wristband. From there, you can go to any of the participating bars. Most people tend to go to the check in bar and have a drink or two before moving along the list. You can check the pub crawl map to the CrawlSF website to find out all of the extra stuff like the Find the Gnome Contest, locations of DJs, Drink Specials, Glitter Tattoo area, Tarot Card Reader, Food options and more. Make sure to note where the bus pickup locations are so you can plan the best path for your crawl.
I would suggest arriving early as there are some times later in the evening where it may take longer to check in and longer to get a drink (or get into some of the bars).
